Kiki Bag's Principal's major manufacturing facilities are situated in Durban and Cape Town. The port of Durban, on the east coast of South Africa was chosen to be the hub for the international import and export operations. KIKI BAG.uk was established in January 1997 primarily for the marketing of paper shopping bags for the export market. This office and future distribution facility is located in Surrey. In August 1997 an office was opened in Durban to facilitate better communications between our present local and overseas customers and our new prospective customers world wide.

The KIKI BAG facilities in Durban are situated in close proximity to SAPPI and MONDI being the major paper manufacturers on the African continent. Both mills manufacture Whitetop Liner board, unbleached Kraft Liner board, from 125 gsm to 400 gsm. In addition SAPPI produce 40 gsm to 100 gsm MF and MG plain and narrow ribbed brown kraft paper, and various grades of extensible sack kraft for the local and export markets. MONDI also produce 70 to 120 gsm MF pure white bleached kraft.

The bag manufacturing facility in Cape Town moved to larger premises in February 1997, increasing the availability of their production area. The product range was expanded to include the manufacture of flat notion and gusseted millinery bags, plain and printed, in brown and white kraft paper, self opening square grocery bags from 1 lb to 35 lb including supermarket check out sacks and 1/2 lb to 3 lb greaseproof flat bags and greaseproof lined 2 ply bags are a speciality with a 3 colour print for the fast food market.

In 1996 a market research programme was conducted to establish the demand and need for a new bag with the internationally accepted paper and flat paper tape cord handles, in order to manufacture a 100% BIODEGRADABLE RECYCLABLE and environmentally friendly paper shopping bag with the use of environmentally friendly RENEWABLE RESOURCE raw materials to meet the growing world conservation needs and world market demands.
